Sometimes the bags make a mess when they pop, so you may want to experiment outside. If it's a rainy day, you can explode your Bubble Bombs in the bathtub or sink.&lt;br /&gt;2 It's very important to use a bag without holes. To test the zipper-lock bag, put about half a cup of water into it. Zip it closed and turn it upside down. If no water leaks out, you can use that bag. Unzip it and pour out the water. If the bag leaks, try another one. Keep testing bags until you find one that doesn't leak. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3 Tear a paper towel into a square that measures about 5 inches by 5 inches. Put 1 1/2 tablespoons of &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;baking soda&lt;/span&gt; in the center of the square, then fold the square as shown in the picture, with the baking soda inside. This is your "time-release packet."&lt;br /&gt;  4 Pour into your plastic bag:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;1/2 cup of vinegar&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;1/4 cup of warm water&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt; 5 Now here's the tricky part. You need to drop the time-release packet into the &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;vinegar&lt;/span&gt; and zip the bag closed before the fizzing gets out of control.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can zip the bag halfway closed, then stuff the packet in and zip the bag closed the rest of the way in a hurry. Or you can put the time-release packet into the mouth of the bag and hold it up out of the vinegar by pinching the sides of the bag. Zip the bag closed and then let the packet drop into the vinegar.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One way or another, get the packet in the vinegar and zip the bag closed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6 Shake the bag a little, put it in the sink or on the ground, and stand back! You’ll need:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;1 cup of vinegar &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;1 tablespoon of baking soda &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;A small square of tissue paper &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;A sandwich-size Ziploc bag &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt; &lt;p&gt;To demonstrate your fizzy bomb:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Make sure you work outdoors or in a large sink with plenty of paper towel nearby. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Pour the cup of vinegar into the plastic bag. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Put the tablespoon of baking soda into the square of tissue paper. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Twist the tissue paper into a little packet. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Place the tissue paper packet into the bag and seal it tightly. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Place the bag down quickly and watch the reaction! &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;If the reaction is slow in starting, gently shake the bag. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt; &lt;p&gt;The paper will dissolve, releasing the baking soda into the vinegar. The resulting reaction will generate carbon dioxide that will quickly fill the bag to bursting. For a more energetic reaction, use a 20-ounce plastic soda bottle. When you make one of these and throw it in the air, it will explode mid-flight. The principle of this project is the same as the dry ice bomb (squeezing too much gas into too small a container). Carbon dioxide gas forms as the result of a chemical reaction between the vinegar and baking soda. This project is safer than the dry ice bombs because the explosion is much weaker, but you should still be careful and avoid getting the chemicals near your face.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;MATERIALS &amp;amp; INGREDIENTS&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;  * A. Bottle of&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt; vinegar&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;  * B. Film canister&lt;br /&gt;  * C. Plastic bottle cap&lt;br /&gt;  * D. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Baking soda&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;INSTRUCTIONS&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; 1. Make sure that the bottle cap you have will slide into the film canister. It should slide down freely, but be large enough that it can not flip over sideways while inside the film can.&lt;br /&gt; 2. Fill the film canister about 1/4 full with &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;vinegar&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt; 3. Fill the bottle cap with&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt; baking soda&lt;/span&gt;. Keeping the open end of the cap facing upwards, insert it into the film canister and let it float on the vinegar. The purpose of the bottle cap is to keep the vinegar and baking soda seperate until you’re ready to throw the grenade.&lt;br /&gt; 4. Carefully close the film canister so the &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;vinegar&lt;/span&gt; doesn’t splash around. (It may be easiest to set it on a flat surface.)&lt;br /&gt; 5. Give the grenade a solid toss. Sometimes the bags make a mess when they pop, so you may want to experiment outside. If it's a rainy day, you can explode your Bubble &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Bombs&lt;/span&gt; in the bathtub or sink.&lt;br /&gt;2 It's very important to use a bag without holes. To test the zipper-lock bag, put about half a cup of water into it. Zip it closed and turn it upside down. If no water leaks out, you can use that bag. Unzip it and pour out the water. If the bag leaks, try another one. Keep testing bags until you find one that doesn't leak.   &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3 Tear a paper towel into a square that measures about 5 inches by 5 inches. Put 1 1/2 tablespoons of baking soda in the center of the square, then fold the square  with the &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;baking soda&lt;/span&gt; inside. This is your "time-release packet."&lt;br /&gt;    4 Pour into your plastic bag:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1/2 cup of&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt; vinegar&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1/4 cup of warm water&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5 Now here's the tricky part. You need to drop the time-release packet into the vinegar and zip the bag closed before the fizzing gets out of control.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can zip the bag halfway closed, then stuff the packet in and zip the bag closed the rest of the way in a hurry. Or you can put the time-release packet into the mouth of the bag and hold it up out of the vinegar by pinching the sides of the bag. Zip the bag closed and then let the packet drop into the vinegar.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One way or another, get the packet in the vinegar and zip the bag closed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6 Shake the bag a little, put it in the sink or on the ground, and stand back!
